Just across the border in Oregon and 25 miles off the highway to nowhere is Leslie Gulch, a sort of mini-Zion in the high desert Owyhee country. I had the place to myself in late October.

The trail up Upper Leslie Gulch is little-used, but a nice hike nonetheless. I wish I could upload the smell of sagebrush to compliment these photos.

One could spend all day snapping photos in Leslie Gulch, it seems like every time you turn around, there are new shapes and new textures to see.
