Waterfowl
March-May, 2004

When I worked on the burrowing owl project, I lived in a house on the McNary Wildlife Refuge outside of Burbank, Washington. There was a fully-enclosed blind at the water's edge in which you could see the migratory waterfowl that call McNary home for at least part of the year. And get fair to middling photos of them. Here is a group of greater scaups.

A northern shoveler does its thing.

A ruddy duck.

Three species in this picture, mallard, redhead, and bufflehead.
